This policy explains how the competition website uses cookies or similar storage and access technologies.

1 What cookies are

Cookies are small data files stored on a device. Similar technologies may include local storage, pixels or identifiers. Some are necessary for a service to work; others support analytics, embedded media or marketing.

2 Our approach

• Strictly necessary technologies may operate without optional consent where the legal exception applies.
• Analytics, advertising and other non-essential technologies remain disabled until the visitor makes an active choice.
• Rejecting optional cookies will be as easy as accepting them.
• No optional choice will be pre-selected.
• A visitor can change or withdraw consent at any time through the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

3 Current register

• Site hosting and security: strictly necessary technologies used to deliver and protect the service.
• Consent record: a strictly necessary browser-storage item named kk_consent_v2 records whether optional analytics and advertising technologies were accepted or rejected, with the time of the choice. It is kept until the choice is changed or browser storage is cleared. It is created only when a choice is made.
• Fonts: served from this website. No third-party font service is used.
• Google Tag Manager (container GTM-WBW37JPB): a Google tool that loads the analytics and advertising tags below. It is loaded only after you accept at least one optional category, and each tag runs only for the category you accepted. Tag Manager itself does not set cookies.
• Analytics — Google Analytics: only with your consent to Analytics. Google typically sets cookies named _ga and _ga_<ID>, which last up to 2 years, to count visits and see how pages are used.
• Advertising measurement — Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel: only with your consent to Advertising measurement. Meta typically sets a cookie named _fbp (about 3 months) and TikTok a cookie named _ttp (up to 13 months), to measure whether our adverts led people to this website.
• Cookie names and durations are set by each provider and can change. We review this register after scanning the live website.
• YouTube: finalist videos are published on the official KAIROS-K channel. Embedded content must not load before consent where consent is required.
• Sintegrum: competition access, assessments, interviews, submissions and related security functions. The deployed technologies and duration will be confirmed after the technical audit.
• Google Forms: the application form opens on Google’s own website in a new tab; it is not embedded, so no Google technology loads on this website. Google may use cookies needed to operate the form under its own terms.
• Advert referral code: if you arrive from one of our adverts, a strictly necessary session-storage item named kk_ref_v1 keeps the advert tags from the link until you close the browser, and adds them to the application form if you open it. It is not used for anything else.

4 Managing preferences

Visitors can use the website cookie settings control and browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary technologies may prevent parts of the service from working.

5 Updates

The register will be updated after the final website, analytics, YouTube embeds, Sintegrum configuration and application form are scanned.
